Fequently Asked Questions
E1 wheels are entirely composed of carbon fiber composite, excluding an aluminum adapter to connect the axel to the wheel.
Our carbon fiber wheels come with a standard matte or glossy finish. We also offer color customization for an additional charge. Please discuss with your sales representative.
E1 wheels are stronger, lighter, and more fuel-efficient than comparable traditional metal alloy wheels. They also provide a smoother drive with better handling, more responsive braking, and improved acceleration. See Design & Benefits to learn more.
The weight of the wheel is highly dependent on its fitment. For example, a 19”x9” wheel weighs around 11 lbs. with a variant due to the offset of the wheel. Our E1 series of carbon fiber wheels are the lightest wheels on the market!
ESE Carbon wheels are designed to withstand a per-axle weight of 3750 lbs., which is sufficient for even a mid-sized SUV such as the BMW X5.
Our wheels are optimized with a high margin of safety to withstand the torque produced by the Bugatti Veyron, which possesses the highest torque on the market.
Our wheels are designed to fit the most aggressive brake calipers available on the market. To ensure that your specific calipers are a match, contact us via email, phone, or live chat.
Carbon fiber wheels, just as metal wheels, are coated with chemicals to protect the wheel from environmental hazards. The coatings we use have a very similar friction profile with the tire when compared with your typical aluminum or steel wheel.
The amount of energy necessary for carbon fiber composites to shatter or break is multiple times higher than that of a steel or aluminum wheel of equal weight and mass. Yes, carbon fiber wheels can shatter and break, but at a stress level that far surpasses any other wheel on the market.
No, it is impossible for our carbon fiber wheels to rust away or corrode because its material properties lack the elements necessary for rusting and corrosion. With that in mind, the resin can be affected by UV sun exposure, but all E1 wheels come with highly durable coatings for UV protection.
Carbon fiber wheels can be repaired as long as the damage is just to the coating surface or is a superficial epoxy scratch. We recommend you repair the wheels using our services. If the scratch is deep enough to affect the carbon fiber, then the safest option is to buy a new wheel.
Our wheels come with a Lifetime Structural Warranty and Two-Year Paint & Finish Warranty. Please refer to our Warranties for more information.
Our return policy only permits the return of defective items resulting from a manufacturing error on our behalf. Because our wheels are custom made to your order, our return policy rejects any return attempts for a wheel with the wrong fitment. Please read our Return Policy and Warranty for more information.
Anywhere from 1 to 4 months’ time, being heavily reliant on availability and the manufacturing schedule.
Our wheels are manufactured in our factory located on the outskirts of Atlanta, Georgia.
Our wheels comply with U.S. Department of Transportation standards. Our wheels meet or exceed the existing Society of American Engineers (SAE) standards for aluminum wheels. We are involved in the SAE committee that is developing standards for carbon fiber wheels, and are testing our wheels to those expected new standards for carbon fiber wheels. Additionally, our wheels are being independently tested by various automotive manufacturers. The wheels we deliver to the aftermarket are of the same quality as the ones we design for the large automotive manufacturers.
Carbon fiber wheel production is an extremely technical process that necessitates skilled technicians, specialized engineers, and highly advanced technologies and materials. All of these factors culminate to a product that tends to be quite expensive. At ESE, we have circumvented these issues by providing the highest quality carbon fiber composites at a competitive price due to our high rate of production. Our Next Generation Autoclave Process (NGAP) uses high pressure and temperature batch manufacturing to provide you the highest quality carbon fiber wheels on the market at price comparable with many Forged Aluminum wheels.
